Years of erosion have melted the limestone outcrops into karst topography, characterized by bat-friendly tunnels and caves. During the day, bats close their eyes to sleep. When the sun goes down, they come out of their hibernation and hunt and eat the many insects that are born in the agricultural fields that cover the Thai countryside.
